It is a safe space for you to praise your friends and cultivate bonds.
Appreciating your friends shouldn't come with a price tag. But if you want to spice things up, you always have options to upgrade.
The co-founders came up with the idea of this app on a random Monday night. With a strong conviction in their hearts and the desire to not waste any time , they started building it the next morning.
Words of affirmation go a long way. It is the simplest way to lift each other up. So we thought of creating a secure platform where there's no limit to positivity and sheer flattery.
Slick was launched on 14th November, 2022.
We will never compromise on privacy. The only reason we ask for your information is to connect you with your friends. Unless required by law or with our internal service providers, Slick will never sell or disclose personal information with unaffiliated third parties. You can read more about it in our privacy policy.
Unlike every social media app, we do not facilitate direct messaging and sharing media. Slick is intended to be a secure setting for socializing with friends. Users can only communicate with those they have accepted as friends and only through polls.
Slick is only available in select schools and colleges right now. We are working towards expanding it to as many schools and colleges as possible all over India.
Users under the age of 13 should not use or download Slick to protect the privacy of younger people. If you are a pre-teen's parent or legal guardian, we suggest putting restrictions on their phone to stop them from accessing social media.
You can add friends in multiple ways! You can try:
* Mobile contacts
* By school/college
* Searching their username
* Friends of your friends
We do not show the names of the people who voted for you to ensure security and enforce reassurance. You can only see their grade and gender, but if you want a name reveal, you can choose to upgrade to Premium Mode.
All of the polls that you receive are sent by your friends on the app. No mind games, every poll prompt is real.
Whenever someone selects you in a poll, you get a DRIP. A blue one is sent by a boy, a pink one is sent by a girl, and a purple one is sent by a non-binary person. The “Top DRIPS” section of your profile shows the polls you’ve been selected for the most!
By responding to polls about your friends, you can earn coins. With these coins, you can get more votes from your friends or your crush by adding your name to their polls. To redeem your coins, go to your profile and click on (SHOP).
By upgrading to “Premium Mode” you can unlock exciting features like-
* Bonus Name Reveals- Disclose the full name of the person who voted for you, 5 times in a month
* Double Coins- Earn twice as many coins when voting on polls
* Crush Alerts- Receive notifications whenever someone adds themselves to your polls
* Function anonymously- Send polls and stay hidden.
* Unlimited hints about who picked you in a poll.
By clicking on your Inbox or a poll you've received, you can buy Premium Mode.
Slick was created so that users could share compliments (almost) anonymously. Fewer compliments would be sent if every poll was made public. We hope you can use the app without paying anything unless you absolutely must know who sent a poll. In any case, keeping it a mystery makes it more entertaining.
Tap to select your school/university and grade/year while signing up. If you cannot find your school/uni, you have the option to add it. Since you can only switch schools/universities once, please keep in mind to only add the one you are already attending.
All high schools and universities in India should be on our list of schools, but mistakenly we skip some. Please add the full name or the abbreviation of your school/uni, and its city and state, if it does not appear when you conduct a search (e.g., XYZ).
Once per account, you are allowed to modify your name, school/uni, or grade/year. You can modify these by tapping “Edit Profile” in your profile. If a modification was made accidentally, you can get in touch with us through the app by going to Settings, and visiting “Help and Support”
You should never register with a phone number that is not yours because we use it to identify you. If you do, kindly log out of the app and register once more with your own phone number.
Slick strives to create a secure environment where students can support one another. We proactively ban users from schools based on indications about their accounts in order to protect our community. For instance, Slick may block you until more of your friends download the app if the majority of your contacts do not attend the school you have chosen. If you were accidentally removed, kindly email us.
You can always look for friends by searching their usernames. Another way is to sync your contacts by tapping the "ENABLE CONTACTS" button if you receive an alert asking you to do so. Additionally, you can access your phone's Settings app and choose Slick → Enable contacts.
Your phone number is required to log into your account, and your contacts are used to search for your pals. Slick will never disclose your contacts or phone number to other users.
Your location is never monitored or paired with your account. Slick only asks for your State and District to help find your schools and colleges easily. Additionally, it is required to be added to your invoice whenever you choose to make a purchase on the app.
To ensure that your friends can vote for you and that you aren't mistaken for someone else, you should always use a name that they know.
You should not:
* Use fake names
* Create multiple accounts
* Impersonate or sign up as a friend
* Join a school/college that you are not currently attending
Open the user's profile, tap in the upper-left corner, and choose REPORT USER to report impersonation. Fill out the input field with as many details as you can.
We genuinely care about our users, and we work hard to maintain a welcoming environment in our community. To share your thoughts or experiences, you can also get in touch with our team directly at info@slickapp.co, or through the “Help and Support” option under Settings. We would welcome the opportunity to fix your issue.
Fear not- We use your contacts as stand-ins in the polls until you have four friends so you can still participate in the game.
Go to your profile and click on the three bars in the top right corner of your profile to open Setting, and then scroll down to find the option to Log out.
You can go to Settings → Manage Account → Deactivate Account. Your friends won't be able to find you or vote for you once you deactivate your account.
In case you want to Delete your account, you may email to us at info@slickapp.co
